Tweed Horizons – Brand Development

BackgroundTweed Horizons - The Scottish Borders Digital Hub

Tweed Horizons Business Centre, a former seminary that includes office suites, communal facilities, meeting rooms and events space, had been under the management of Scottish Enterprise since 1991 before being purchased by GB Technologies in December 2019.

Purpose

GB Technologies Ltd wanted a new brand for the centre, a brand that would become the identity for the region’s flagship office, digital and event space. The new brand also had to align with the GB Technologies brand.

Method

Initially we spent time at the centre, gaining a feel for the physical structure, considering the lines and the colours. Working with the GB Technologies management team, we established where their priorities were in terms of investment into the centre and used these to develop a design brief.

Working with a set of fonts and colours, we created a complementary, yet standalone brand for Tweed Horizons Business Centre.

 Impact

The new brand was developed and launched within 5 working days, with hugely positive feedback given by the Scottish Borders business community via social media channels.

 Quote

“Working with the McGowan Marketing team to develop a brand for Tweed Horizons Business Centre couldn’t have been easier (or quicker). We met on a Wednesday, took a tour of the centre, confirmed our requirement and by the Friday we had four options to choose from – all of which were visually striking and ideally suited to the needs of the business. We selected our preferred option and by the middle of the next week we have a full brand toolkit in our inbox. This meant we could progress with implementing the brand at the centre straight away. We couldn’t be happier with both the service and the output.” – Mark Moncrieff, Managing Director, GB Technologies Ltd
