Energise Galashiels Trust Shopfront Grant Scheme – Project Management

Galashiels Shopfront Improvement Scheme

Background

Energise Galashiels Trust, in partnership with Scottish Borders Council and the Scottish Government, is committed to supporting the regeneration of Galashiels with a wide range of innovative projects and support initiatives. The Galashiels Property/Shopfront Improvement Grant Scheme is one of the initiatives to have been allocated funding and supports a range of regeneration work with the aim of creating a more vibrant and welcoming town centre in Galashiels.

Purpose

Working with a volunteer, we managed all operational and communications aspects of the project.

Method

We created a new information pack with an application form and guidance notes before launching the scheme with a media release and social media campaign.

All enquiries were managed by our team, with a log kept of interested parties, questions asked, packs sent and returned.

Once the closing date passed, we worked with the volunteer, to assess and score each application and subsequently managed all communications to each applicant, successful or otherwise.

Impact

The number of applications exceeded the expectation of the management group, with a broad variety of businesses seeking support to improve their business premises.

Quote

“Having worked with McGowan Marketing on delivering the shopfront grant scheme in Galashiels we found Emily and the team a pleasure to work with. Their forward and pro-active thinking ensured the works were undertaken on time and on budget. We look forward to the next project.”
