Developing the Young Workforce Borders is a Scottish Government funded programme that aims to bridge the gap between school and industry.
In the Scottish Borders, DYW Borders works very closely with Scottish Borders Council and Borders College.
Following the first year of the DYW Borders programme, the three partners decided to host an event to showcase the work undertaken, and impact achieved from their collective efforts to develop the region’s young people
We worked closely with all three partners, acting as event manager, to plan and deliver a celebration event, to be held in the region’s largest event venue.
We were responsible for overseeing the programme for the day, ensuring a diverse mix of sessions and speakers, and managed all of the logistical arrangements so the event was seamless.
Over 300 people in attendance with over 40 stalls in the market place, engaging with stakeholders from Borders businesses, national and local government and high school pupils.
Having worked with Emily on a range of projects, from writing press releases to organising an event for 300 delegates, I would highly recommend her.
With a customer centric approach, she always works hard to understand our objectives and target audiences and challenges us to think outside of the box – coming up with wacky ideas at times!
Professional, energetic and inspirational she is great to work with and always goes above and beyond to deliver. Through our work together we have a clearer brand identity and through the use of both social media and local press we have raised the profile of DYW across the Borders.
