Beau Boutique is a successful beauty salon based in Clovenfords, in the Scottish Borders. The original brand had served the business well but salon owner, Alice MacKay, felt it was time for a refresh of the brand.
To develop a brand that reflected Alice’s personality and ensure she was easily identified within the competitive beauty sector. It was also important to develop a brand that could be continued through the signage and interior décor of the salon, with cohesive brand touch points.
We worked very closely with Alice over a number of months to get a feel for the salon and her personality. Beauty is a very personal service and it is Alice’s personality that differentiates her from her competitors – the brand had to reflect this. Warm, engaging, yet strong and professional.
Giving Alice examples of brands helped frame the thinking, and we then created visual concepts for her to consider. We showcased each identity with a variety of mock ups, including a web page, an Instagram post and a price list.
Once the new identity had been signed off, we were able to create a whole new suite of marketing collateral for Beau Boutique, including a new website.
Beau Boutique not only has a new brand identity, but the whole process was the catalyst for a salon make-over and the launch of a much more engaging website.
“Working with Emily and the McGowan Marketing team was so exciting. I am really proud of my new brand identity, and love the changes to the salon too. Emily really goes above and beyond to help her clients achieve their results. In my case, this meant posing for photos when getting her legs waxed!” – Alice MacKay, Salon Owner, Beau Boutique
